Stand amid the Terracotta Soldiers

Xian and The Terra Cotta Soldiers or The Army of Terracotta Warriors as they are officially known is fast becoming one of the most famous sites in the world.

Discovered by peasants digging a well in 1974 they probably found the most important archaeological site of the 20th. century. 2000 years ago the life size Army of Terracotta Warriors and their horses all standing in battle formation to protect the tomb of Qin Shihuang the First Emperor who united the country were buried.

Your Jane Yeo tour guide will take you around the vaults that have been excavated to date, work is still being done and archaeologists believe that the warriors found so far may be part of a much larger army still waiting to be unearthed. Excavation of the tomb and centre complex could still takes decades but the thousands of warriors standing in battle formation are a must see sight on your Chinese Holiday. Remember, Jane Yeo Tours can negotiate discounts on your accommodation and air travel throughout your China tour.
